What we do

Information Activities

The Centre publishes a journal ‘Socialpsykiatri', 6 times a year with a broad distribution. Issues are themed with both perspectives on methods and theories, strategies and good practices. We also keep an extensive non-lending library available for use both physically and online through our website.
The dynamic website and online library are widely used by students,employees, public workers and service users looking for general knowledge and inspiration on social psychiatric practices. We send out electronic newsletters on an ongoing basis. The website also hosts debate rooms, media clipping services and downloadable materials.
We actively participate in or help organize conferences, courses, workshops, thematic days etc. and make presentations or give speeches across the country.
Finally, we contribute to, sponsor or publish books, training materials, films and reports on issues relevant to the social psychiatric field.

Co-operation and Networking

The Centre facilitates and forms partnerships with all levels of the social psychiatric system. We work closely with practice managers and employees and service users and we also have strong ties with authorities at local, regional and national level as well as NGOs.

Project Work

Projects may be initiated by the Centre itself or conducted at the request of a ministry. Projects are designed to develop and communicate knowledge about a specific current theme.

Special Areas of Interest

We have singled out five strategic areas of special interest to us. They are: Psychosocial rehabilitation, Cross-sector cooperation, Methods of documentation and research on good practice, skill and competence enhancement, and anti-stigma.
